Advent Magic: A Calendar of Light and Tradition

Advent Magic: A Calendar of Light and Tradition
Advent is a special time of year. For every person, every family, and every region, it carries its own unique traditions. Some are rooted in faith, some in folklore, others in nature’s rhythm. All of them, however, share the same essence: they bring light, warmth, and meaning into the darkest days of the year.
Dagmar Steigenberger of Sonne Mond und Erde made a special Advent Calendar to celebrate these traditions. Each day, as you fold open a ray of light, you bring another spark of light into the world. Behind every ray, a vibrant illustration awaits, capturing cherished Advent traditions in rich, festive colours. And when all the rays are revealed, the calendar shines in its fullness and the light is fully born on Christmas Day.
A Journey Through Advent
Your journey begins on November 25th, St. Catherine’s Day, the first step into the wonder of Advent. From there, each day reveals a new story:
-
St. Catherine – wisdom and strength to begin the season
-
Christmas Rose – the flower blooming in winter’s cold
-
Spice Cake – a warming treat that fills the home with fragrance
-
St. Andrew – apostle and gatekeeper of Advent
-
Mistletoe – symbol of blessing and protection
-
St. Barbara’s Branches – twigs that blossom at Christmas
-
St. Nicholas – generosity and joy for children and families
-
Feast of Mary – the promise carried in her purity
-
Apples and Nuts – simple gifts of abundance and sharing
-
Christmas Star – the shining guide along the path
-
St. Lucia – bringer of light in the darkest days
-
Ringing Bells – announcing joy and stillness
-
First Snow – the hush of a world made new
-
Winter Solstice – the turning of darkness back toward light
-
Star of Bethlehem – the star that crowns the journey with hope
A Calendar That Glows
The Advent Calendar reveals its true magic when you place the front inside a Toverlux Lamp. Just cut of the instruction by using scissors along the fold.
You can also display it in a Toverlux Frame by your window, where daylight will naturally illuminate its beauty.
